I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
