Automobiles in Germany's City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Police reported they were alerted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for tips.

A high-ranking political figure stated the incident left him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
